About
From actuators to access control
A Mechatronics engineer's path into cloud, cybersecurity, teaching, and career mentorship.
Starting with systems that move
I began in Mechatronics Engineering — the study of physical systems: actuators, control loops, the logic that makes machines respond to the world. It's a discipline built on precision: a system either holds under load, or it doesn't.
From there, I worked in CAD and design engineering, applying that same systems-thinking to real professional projects.
Rebuilding for the cloud
At some point, it became clear that the systems most worth building were shifting from mechanical to digital. So I retrained — deliberately and from the ground up — across Cloud, Cybersecurity, DevOps, SysOps, and AI for IT Operations.
That work led to a role as an AWS Cloud Engineer, where the same instincts from Mechatronics — resilience, control, designing for failure — turned out to map directly onto cloud infrastructure and security.
Choosing to teach
Today, I've chosen to focus fully on education and career mentorship. I work 1:1 with students, career-changers, and the parents guiding them — on exam and study strategy, degree and career decisions, and tech subjects like AP CSP, IB Computer Science, Security+, CCNA, Python and Java.
I don't just teach toward a test. I teach the underlying system, the same way I'd want it explained to me — because that's what actually holds up once the exam is over.
Teaching philosophy
"Every subject I teach — networking, cloud, cybersecurity, computer science — is a system. My job is to show you how it actually works, not just how to pass the test on it."
